Maybe it sounds great in your personal practice time, then you get with the team and you’re either buried in the mix or absolutely overtaking the entire mix like a Mumford and Sons concert. Pastors Should be Friends Too
Jordan Houghton- Sweetwater
Okay, let’s talk about it. Unfortunately, it’s no secret that the position in the church with the highest turnover rate is worship leaders. While every church has its own unique hurdles, a common thread I’ve seen in a lot of these situations is the lack of a consistent and close relationship between the Senior Pastor and the Worship Pastor. If you’re close to someone, they could say the craziest thing right to your face, but because you know their heart and intentions so well, it doesn’t even phase you. However, if a total stranger comes up to you with the same energy, defenses go up instantly, and the chance of an altercation is increased. It’s important for Senior Pastors and Worship Pastors to work together in tandem for the worship experience and for the health of the church overall. I want to go over how it’s helpful for teams throughout the church, the worship set into the message, and for consistent and healthy growth together.
